4 Carolina Panthers players set for bigger roles after 2022 offseason

Marquis Haynes – Carolina Panthers DE/OLB
Considering that Marquis Haynes was well within his right to explore other options with a view to more playing time after his contract expired this spring, it was something of a surprise to see the edge defender pen a new deal with the Carolina Panthers. However, the former Ole Miss star probably realizes that the upcoming campaign is one of real opportunity providing everything falls into place.
Haynes has maximized his time on the field over the last two seasons.
Something he can no doubt build upon if given the chance.
As stated previously, Haason Reddick is no longer around and his exceptional pass-rushing prowess needed to be replicated somehow. Haynes certainly has the capabilities to generate disruption frequently and has the track record to back it up, so it’s just a case of maintaining this over a prolonged period of time if Carolina is intent on getting him more involved.
The Panthers didn’t have to stump up much in the way of cash to keep Haynes around. Simply put, this deal could look like the steal of the century if the player takes the necessary leap forward in 2022.
Carving out a more prominent role for himself will be the first objective for Haynes. Once this is achieved, then anything is possible.
