Jeremy Chinn – Carolina Panthers S

There is little doubt that Jeremy Chinn has already outplayed his rookie contract after just two seasons with the Carolina Panthers. The versatile defender is already an integral part of the team’s long-term plans and if further improvements are made in 2022, his representatives will be keen to get themselves to the bargaining table in pursuit of a new deal.

Chinn has been an absolute revelation since the Panthers traded up to land the Southern Illinois product at No. 64 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. His production either as an outside linebacker or safety has been exemplary and providing there are some adjustments to his coverage capabilities, this is a superstar in the making.

From a production standpoint, Chinn is almost the total package. Defensive coordinator Phil Snow has also done a fine job of putting the athletic difference-maker in positions to use his instincts in a positive fashion consistently.

The Panthers got Chinn a prolific partner on the backend this spring with the addition of Xavier Woods from the Minnesota Vikings. If this tandem hits it off, then it will only boost a secondary that is also getting cornerback Jaycee Horn back to full fitness.

If Chinn can maintain this high level of production and perhaps even enhance it slightly, then a first Pro Bowl starting berth might not be far behind. It could also make him a wealthy man this time next year.
