New England Patriots

Things have changed dramatically in the AFC East in recent years. Once a division dominated by the New England Patriots, the departure of quarterback Tom Brady has seen them fall to also-rans behind the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins, who’ve come to life under Mike McDaniel to start the 2022 campaign unbeaten.

There are some clear frailties on offense for Bill Belichick to solve. This bears special significance in the passing game, with quarterback Mac Jones not having enough firepower to call upon despite the impressive displays from DeVante Parker.

Belichick is renowned for taking chances on players down on their luck and turning them into stars. We’ve seen it time and time against throughout his legendary run in New England and Terrace Marshall Jr. could be an enticing option depending on the compensation involved.

New England reportedly called the Carolina Panthers about potentially acquiring Robbie Anderson via trade this offseason. Perhaps picking up the phone again for Marshall is something Scott Fitterer would be more receptive to at this juncture.

The chances of making the postseason appear bleak for the Patriots given the presence of two contenders within their division. But given Marshall’s age, this trade could also have some long-term benefits if the wideout finally starts putting his attributes to good use.
