The Carolina Panthers went into the bye week with renewed confidence. Winning against the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants gave everyone a big boost at the best possible time. Nobody is getting too carried away, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Getting the chance to rest, reflect, and adjust during the bye week was welcome for head coach Dave Canales. He wanted the players to maximize their time away from the facility and come back with a fresh purpose, ready to finish the campaign strongly before another crucial offseason in 2025.

Canales has his work cut out over Carolina's remaining games. They have a gauntlet filled with potential playoff contenders and divisional rivalries thrown in for good measure. A huge effort is needed, but the Panthers are getting healthy and have some slight momentum to build upon if things keep trending upward.

With this in mind, we took a look at how the Panthers could far in their seven remaining games before the team's 2024 regular-season engagements conclude.

Game by game Carolina Panthers predictions after the 2024 bye week

Carolina Panthers vs. Chefs - Week 12

  • Date: Sunday, November 24
  • Time: 1.00 p.m. ET
  • Venue: Bank of America Stadium

The Carolina Panthers couldn't have asked for a more daunting game upon returning from their bye week. Dave Canales' men welcome the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs to Bank of America Stadium in Week 12. It'll be a tough challenge, but one the head coach wants his team to embrace.

Kansas City is going for a historic three-peat this season. They look on course to lock up the No. 1 seed despite things not clicking fully yet. They'll also be highly motivated to get back to winning ways in this one after suffering their first loss of the campaign at the Buffalo Bills in Week 11.

Any team with Patrick Mahomes under center must be respected. The Chiefs' defense is a formidable adversary to overcome. They could also get star running back Isiah Pacheco into the lineup following his spell on injured reserve.

  • Prediction: Carolina Panthers loss (3-8)

The Panthers will be fresh and should be prepared for a stern test of their credentials. That doesn't guarantee success. However, don't be surprised if Canales' squad keeps this closer than most anticipate even if the result doesn't go their way.

Carolina Panthers vs. Buccaneers - Week 13

  • Date: Sunday, December 1
  • Time: 4.05 p.m. ET
  • Venue: Bank of America Stadium

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers looked more than capable of retaining the NFC South championship earlier this season. However, their current four-game losing run leaves the team's fortunes hanging by a thread.

This hasn't been a happy contest for the Carolina Panthers in recent seasons. Tom Brady's arrival started a dominant run for the Buccaneers versus their division rivals. Baker Mayfield continued the trend, sticking it to his old employers twice last season.

This will be a special game for head coach Dave Canales. He spent one season as Tampa Bay's offensive coordinator before taking the top job in Carolina. He'll know a lot about the opposition. Whether it's enough to turn this rivalry in the Panthers' favor is another matter.

  • Prediction: Carolina Panthers win (4-8)

Players should pull hard and give everything they have to ensure Canales emerges from this game with bragging rights. It won't be easy, but the Panthers have a shot if everyone executes their assignments effectively and stud cornerback Jaycee Horn restricts the influence of wide receiver Mike Evans.

Carolina Panthers at Eagles - Week 14

  • Date: Sunday, December 8
  • Time: 1.00 p.m. ET
  • Venue: Lincoln Financial Field

This is arguably the toughest test remaining for the Panthers. Going on the road to play the Philadelphia Eagles is a tricky proposition at the best of times. Especially when they are in such sensational form.

Nick Sirianni overcame a rocky start to get his team humming. The Eagles have been nothing short of outstanding in recent weeks, racking up six straight victories and assuming control of the NFC East after beating the Washington Commanders on Thursday Night Football.

Running back Saquon Barkley is one of the offseason's best signings after the New York Giants let him test free agency. The wide receiver duo of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith remains prolific. They also have an imposing young defense coming of age at the right time.

  • Prediction: Carolina Panthers loss (4-9)

This looks like a step too far for the Panthers despite their improved form before the bye week. Philadelphia is one of the league's hottest teams right now. Couple this with with navigating the hostile environment Lincoln Financial Field provides, it's not hard to see where the complications could emerge.

Carolina Panthers vs. Cowboys - Week 15

  • Date: Sunday, December 15
  • Time: 1.00 p.m. ET
  • Venue: Bank of America Stadium

Not many thought the Panthers would have a chance in this one before the season. Things look a lot different now.

The Dallas Cowboys are in complete disarray. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones completely fumbled their offseason and it's showing. They are miles off the pace in the NFC and within their division following a disastrous opening to the campaign.

Quarterback Dak Prescott won't play again this season after suffering a serious hamstring tear. The Panthers will be going up against either Cooper Rish or Trey Lance, which shouldn't fill anybody with fear when push comes to shove.

  • Prediction: Carolina Panthers win (5-9)

Perhaps the most concerning factor behind Dallas' demise is their soft underbelly on both sides of the football. The Panthers can exploit this by punishing the Cowboys' woeful run defense with a heavy dose of Chuba Hubbard and Jonathon Brooks en route to yet another win on home soil.

Carolina Panthers vs. Cardinals - Week 16

  • Date: Sunday, December 22
  • Time: 1.00 p.m. ET
  • Venue: Bank of America Stadium

Things seem to be clicking for the Arizona Cardinals after an inconsistent start. They sit atop the NFC West and are the only team in the division with a winning record right now. It's extremely close behind them, so nothing but a strong finish to the campaign will do.

Kyler Murray is injury-free and looking like one of the league's top quarterbacks again. He's got a stable rushing partner alongside him in the backfield - James Conner - who's proving valuable as a physical presence and imposing red-zone threat.

The likes of tight end Trey McBride and rookie first-round wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. are a formidable duo. They have some explosive young defenders with veteran safety Budda Baker guiding them. This is a strong challenge for the Carolina Panthers in their final home engagement of the 2024 campaign.

  • Prediction: Carolina Panthers loss (5-10)

The Panthers aren't without a chance if they control the clock and keep Murray contained in the pocket. But there are too many dangers across the board in Arizona to predict anything other than a loss at this juncture.

Carolina Panthers at Buccaneers - Week 17

  • Date: Sunday, December 29
  • Time: 1.00 p.m. ET
  • Venue: Raymond James Stadium

The Panthers finish their regular season engagements with two testing divisional fixtures on the road. First up is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who might be in the playoff picture by this point if head coach Todd Bowles can figure things out during their bye week.

As previously mentioned, the Panthers don't have the best record against the Buccaneers in recent seasons. Changing this narrative and making sure they leave their mark in the NFC South is a bold yet attainable target for Dave Canales. Much will depend on who is under center by this point, but Carolina can go into the game with confidence despite things not going well overall this season.

The Buccaneers have some dangerous playmakers on both sides of the football. They are vulnerable on defense, giving up 264.1 passing yards per game and a tick over 125 rushing yards per contest.

  • Prediction: Carolina Panthers loss (5-11)

Again, this is a fine-margin situation that could legitimately go either way. A slight preference is for the Buccaneers to maximize their home-field advantage.

Carolina Panthers at Falcons - Week 18

  • Date: TBD
  • Time: TBD
  • Venue: Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Carolina was no match for the Atlanta Falcons in their first meeting this season. They were easily disposed of at Bank of America Stadium in Week 6, so head coach Dave Canales will be demanding an improved effort to ensure they finish off the campaign on a high.

The Falcons sit atop the NFC South currently. It's far from perfect where Raheem Morris' squad is concerned, so the pressure is all on them if they don't have postseason football wrapped up by this point.

This is something the Panthers can use to their advantage. Playing with a sense of freedom and piling pressure on the Falcons could lead to increased hesitancy depending on the stakes involved. That might be enough to cause an upset and potentially alter Atlanta's trajectory when the playoffs arrive.

  • Prediction: Carolina Panthers win (6-11)

It's another losing season under team owner David Tepper's leadership, which is disappointing. But if the Panthers could somehow finish 6-11 after starting the campaign 1-7, it represents an outstanding accomplishment in the circumstances.
