Which Carolina Panthers news stories are hitting the headlines as Fan Fest tickets continue to be snapped up by an expectant fanbase?

Good morning and a happy Friday to everyone. Among the Carolina Panthers stories causing column inches recently include Bradley Bozeman's potential for a debut Pro Bowl honor in 2023, why Bryce Young has yet to sign his rookie deal, Luke Kuechly's hopes for the Pro Football Hall of Fame despite an early retirement, and running back Camerun Peoples looking to shock the world and earn a spot on Carolina's 53-man roster.

Let's delve into each topic in more detail.

Carolina Panthers C Bradley Bozeman tipped for Pro Bowl

Bradley Bozeman's impact during a memorable first season with the Carolina Panthers was significant both on and off the field. The veteran center provided expert communication and improved production once installed into the lineup, which made the decision to hand the former Alabama star an extension straightforward for those in power.

Bozeman will start right out of the gate next season and big things are expected. Schuyler Callihan of Sports Illustrated went one step further, suggesting the sixth-round selection in 2018 can make his first Pro Bowl with any further improvements.

"[Bradley] Bozeman was a force in the run game a year ago and now that he'd the unquestioned starter, I expect even better results in 2023. Very few talk about him as one of the top centers in the NFL but that will change after this season."
Schuyler Callihan, Sports Illustrated

This would be the best-case scenario for the Panthers. One that would make the money given to Bozeman this spring look like a steal.

Camerun Peoples wants Carolina Panthers shot

Everything looks pretty set in the running back room with Miles Sanders, Chuba Hubbard, and Raheeom Blackshear as the three expected to go through onto the 53-man roster. However, there is one man looking to ruffle a few feathers at training camp.

The Carolina Panthers wasted no time in picking up undrafted free-agent Camerun Peoples once the selection process concluded. Rather than feel bitter about not hearing his name called, the former Appalachian State stud is using this as a source of motivation in pursuit of forcing his way into the team's plans.

Based on his comments via The Charlotte Post, Peoples is starting to feel like he genuinely belongs. And the backfield threat is looking to build on this positive momentum when the pads go on at Wofford College.

"Every morning I step in the locker room, it’s just a feeling that I belong here (with the Panthers). I thank God first for putting me in this position because I worked my tail off to get here. They wanted me here. They brought me in here because they believe in me. I learned a lot more about my position, about the game. I’m trying to learn as much as I can. Watching film, talking to coaches, asking questions. Now I can come back for camp and apply what I know and play fast and loose. In camp, I will be ready to maximize my opportunity even more."

Much will depend on how many running backs the Panthers select and how Peoples performs when carries come his way in the preseason. But counting the rookie out at this juncture would be incredibly foolish.

Carolina Panthers legend named as Hall of Fame lock

The Carolina Panthers still miss Luke Kuechly's presence at the defensive second level three years after his bombshell retirement. He remains a key part of the franchise behind the scenes and is always welcome at practice, but the defense hasn't been the same since the emotional video that came with an outpouring of grief across the fanbase.

Kuechly would be welcomed back in a heartbeat by Frank Reich if he opted to pursue coaching at any stage. There is also the small matter of whether the former Boston College star will be a first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer when the time comes in 2025.

After Sam Mills became the first genuine Panthers connection enshrined in Canton last year, legendary franchise figures are now queueing up for their place. Steve Smith Sr. and Julius Peppers could go in 2024, but even though Kuechly was named as a Hall of Fame lock by The 33rd Team, writer Paul Domowitch questioned whether it would be at the first time of asking given his short career.

"[Luke] Kuechly walked away from the game after eight seasons and a string of concussions. He made the most of those seasons, going to the Pro Bowl seven times and being a first-team All-Pro five times as well as an All-Decade selection. “If he had played another three to four years, he’d be a first-year-of-eligibility guy,” Domowitch said. “Might still be, but he shouldn’t have to wait very long. Kuechly was the league’s Defensive Player of the Year in just his second season. He was a smart, instinctive, difference-making player.’’"
The 33rd Team

Kuechly packed more accomplishments into eight years than most could even dream of. He's arguably the best middle linebacker of the modern era and nobody would argue if a first-ballot induction came his way after giving absolutely everything and almost sacrificing his long-term health for the game.

Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young's contract

Bryce Young is less than two weeks away from attending his first NFL training camp. And the No. 1 pick's representatives are still trying to finalize his contract with the Carolina Panthers.

While the rookie pay scale means Young will get more than any other prospect entering the league this year, it's not that simple. How the financial elements are structured involves complex negotiations and at least for now, no party has been willing to budge on the more intricate parts of the deal.

This isn't any cause for alarm right now. Although that could change if there's any chance of Young missing training camp practices to avoid risking injury until the contract is signed.

Joel Corry of CBS Sports went into great detail about why high-end draft picks such as Young and C.J. Stroud have yet to sign. But the writer outlined that Carolina could make some concessions given that the former Alabama star already has the No. 1 job sown up after a phenomenal initial transition.

"The [Carolina] Panthers have already named [Bryce] Young as their starting quarterback. Making sure Young doesn't miss any of training camp, especially once the veterans report on July 25, could lead to the Panthers making contractual exceptions for him. The lump sum payment is the more likely contract exception because it will be easier for the Panthers to justify given the more extensive recent history of a signing bonus being paid in its entirety shortly after signing."
Joel Corry, CBS Sports

Everything should work itself and fans know that the Panthers have some outstanding front office figures handling business these days. Therefore, the chances of Young not having something concrete to sign before camp seems extremely unlikely.
