Are the Panthers in the Javon Walker Sweepstakes

facebooktwitterreddit

The Gaston Gazette is reporting an ESPN report stating that the Carolina Panthers have contacted free agent wide receiver, Javon Walker, is false.

"There was a report earlier in the day on ESPN.com that the Panthers have contacted the agent for free agent wide receiver Javon Walker. However, sources close to the situation said that is false. The Panthers did inquire about trading for Walker some time ago, but no longer seem interested in him."

Seems that a lot of teams are interested in Walker and the favorite to land him might be Dallas.  But Walker has yet to visit anywhere and is playing this very cool.  The Panthers may or may not be in the running.  Either way, the team that lands him will have to cover themselves in the even that he isn’t fully healed.
