Justin Hartwig Released

justinhartwig.jpgCarolina Panthers General Manager, Marty Hurney said the team had tried to trade Justin Hartwig.  There were no takers.

The team had decided to move last year’s second round pick, Ryan Kalil, into the starting lineup at center and allow Hartwig to compete for a spot at right guard.  However, Hartwig prefers to play center, his natural position, so the team allowed him to seek a spot with another team by releasing him.

He had been a high profile free agent signing for the Panthers in 2006 but missed much of his first season with the team due to injury.

Now, it’s up to Kalil to prove himself as the starting center.

The makeover continues.

another CB from Oakland the pictures of him on yahoo are of him getting burned by Berrian for a TD so i wouldnt care for the kid.

Seems like something they would do. Who is Chris Carr?

well im sure the Panthers know wat they are doing and ive also read the Panthers brougnt in UFA Chris Carr from the Raiders for a visit thats just wat we need another Carr... but ne ways im sure we would sign most of our Draft picks to Long term deals like a OT DE DT and we can always worry about the cap issue next year lol.

We need a few mill left for out draft picks though.

Finally the Panthers are to meet with a WR this friday its about damn time its former Seattle WR D.J. Hackett so this should be intresting as of last thursday are source says our salary cap is about 8.7 mil under the cap so there should still be some room to sign a few more players.
