Horn An Option?

Posted by: John White

Banged up is an understatement when referring to the receivers on the Carolina Panthers roster.  Steve Smith is recovering from a concussion, Moose has sore ribs, D.J. Hackett is hurt, Dwayne Jarrett has been ailing.

Well, Joe Horn was just given his unconditional release by the Atlanta Falcons.  Sure, he’s 36 years old but he could still be a viable option for depth and for veteran leadership and you can never have too much leadership on a team.

It’s unlikely but it could be considered.

The pricetag would likely be $2.5 million – money due to Horn for the coming season.

Let’s be honest, if Hackett can’t go very often, Horn could be one option.  He’s proven to be reliable when healthy.  You could be taking on more health issues with him especially with his age but there’s no reason not to think about it.

Will Marty Hurney and John Fox give this a spin with Horn’s agent or let it go?  We’ll see.  I’m just throwing it out there.

            BallHype: hype it up!

Sign for the first two games and see how he plays. If he makes some plays, keep him. If not, releasearoo.
