On Monday, the Panthers added another free agent and re-signed one of their own.

From the San Francsisco 49ers, Carolina signed defensive back Marcus Hudson. A product of North Carolina State, Hudson spent four years with the 49ers on special teams. In 2009 he posted a career-high 24 special teams tackles, adding to his career total of 57.

The Panthers also re-signed offensive tackle Rob Petitti.

Petitti, who was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys, has played with the St. Louis Rams and New Orleans Saints; spent much of 2009 with the United Football League’s Florida Tuskers before the Panthers signed him in December when Jeff Otah suffered a late season-ending injury.
