WR Brandon LaFell is the Newest Member of the Carolina Panthers

Louisiana Tech v LSU

The Panthers have done it, and drafted at an area of utmost need.

LaFell, a receiver out of the Louisiana State University, was rated the top receiver by some scouts going into the 2009 season.

The downside of LaFell, is he’s been negatively affected by a knee injury. My hope is that the injury problem subsides once he begins his pro career in Carolina.

LaFell is a possession receiver who amassed 170 catches in the last three years. Last year he had 11 touchdowns on 57 catches.

So again, let’s hope the knee injury is fully recovered by training camp.

Welcome to Carolina, Brandon LaFell!

Definitely an interesting move by the Panthers. I just hope LaFell’s knee problem doesn’t come back to haunt us. Otherwise, I’d say LaFell is a solid possession receiver and great need.
