Live Blog: Carolina Panthers @ Miami Dolphins

facebooktwitterreddit

Here we go guys, I’m going to keep a live blog of the game tonight.

-We are set to kick off, with Miami getting the ball first; Miami will start on the 22 yard line.

-Bad coverage on Bush there, gain of 16 for Miami.

-Stopped Miami on 3rd down, good job of keeping the ball from going to far down the field. Coverage is looking good.

-HEre we go, Cam Newton is taking the field, Shockey is also starting.

-Good 12 yard pass from Newton to Olsen. Cam looks very confident in the pocket already.

-Finally a run from Cam Newton, gain of 6. Wasn’t enough for a first down, but that’s what I wanted to see.

-Panthers’ defense is allowing big plays. Holes are appearing all over the field.

-Miami TD. Panthers had a good stop for 3 downs, until the Dolphins decided to go for it on 4th from the half yard line.

-Nice 16 yard pass from Newton to Shockey.

-That does it for the 1st quarter. The Panthers’ D look a little sloppy, but Cam Newton is doing well. Should see a bit more of Cam Newton in the 2nd quarter.

-Great thread the needle type pass to Olsen, not enough for the first down, but Cam is looking solid.

-Panthers are having trouble holding Reggie Bush, and they keep leaving WR’s open.

-Reggie Bush just ran for 20 yards, there was an illegal block in the back so the run was negated. Still, Panthers need to work on stopping the run.

-Another 10+ yard gain for the Dolphins, this time a great pass by Henne.

-Nice stop on the “reverse.” Finally a loss of yards for Miami.

-Bad pass by Henne and good coverage by the Panthers’ secondary on 4th down. Panthers’ ball.

-Cam Newton is loving his TE’s. Gain of 7 off a great pass to Shockey.

-Pocket collapsed and Cam couldn’t make a play. 4th down for the Panthers again.

-First down Miami, Henne pass to Bess for 17. Coverage was too loose on that play.

-Nice deflection by RJ Stanford. Finally, some coverage by the Panthers.

-39 yard kick by Carpenter, 10-0 Miami.

-Passes to Edwards and Shockey aren’t enough for a 1st down. 4th down Panthers.

-38 yard pass from Henne to a wide open Falsano. Burney records the tackle, and I have no idea how Falsano was WIDE OPEN.

-Another TD for Miami with 1:13 left in the second quarter. The Panthers need a clutch performance by Cam.

-Screen pass to Tyrell Sutton for 21 yards. Sutton showing some speed there, might be useful this year.

-Another scramble by Newton. This is the Cam Newton we wanted to see.

-And that’s the half. We didn’t get to see much of Cam Newton and the Panthers’ first offense. The defense looked flustered at times, and left gaping holes on the field.

-Clausen also struggled to get the ball moving, again it is 4th down Panthers.

-Matt Moore is in for the Dolphins.

-Another FG for Carpenter, 20-0 Miami.

-Terribly over thrown pass by Clausen. No one was within 10 yards of that ball.

-Huge pass from Clausen to Clowney for 35 yards brought back by an illegal formation.

-Another 4th down for Carolina. That was a good drive by Clausen and the running crew, but penalties held them back.

Ok Guys, that is it for me. I have to cut this short as something came up. Hopefully the Panthers can get out of this slump and come back and win it here in the second half.
