Foster returns to the Panthers? Well in an incorrect way

Evidently the USA Today Sports Staff has some insider trading about the Carolina Panthers running back situation. Yesterday the site published an article about new NFL coaches who will be under the gun this year. In that they highlight all of the new head coaches including Panthers head coach Ron Rivera.

In the article they talk about the coaches career and the challenges he faces this season. Here is what they had to say about the Panthers challenges this season.

"Challenges ahead: Must take great care grooming inexperienced but promising QB Cam Newton, top pick in draft. Must avoid pushing him to do too much too soon in effort to turn around two-win team. Return to health of RB DeShaun Foster should help. Immediate defensive improvement will be expected after the Panthers spent heavily to retain defensive end Charles Johnson and others."

Are you kidding me? DeShawn Foster. The guy hasn’t played for the Panthers since 2007 and hasn’t even played in the NFL Since 2009. I know everyone makes mistakes including on this site. But come on this is the USA Today, one of the biggest newspapers in the USA.  I know we all make copy errors but man this is a first class whiff and a half on a fact. The writer, copy editor and editor of the page that night I am sure is getting more than an ear full about that mistake today.

I know its not much but thought you guys may get a chuckle out of it today. Have a good Friday everyone.
