A look at the NFC South

Well it is week three and the Carolina Panthers are back in a familiar place in the NFC South, the bottom. Yes, the Panthers are 0-2 on this young season, while the rest of the team’s managed to get off of the snide and pick up a victory last week.

This week that could change. The Carolina Panthers take on the Jacksonville Jaguars and could finally pick up that elusive first win of the season. Cam Newton has done his best but has come up empty so far finding his first NFL game of his career but I have a feeling that is going to change this week. The Jaguars are having a lot of trouble themselves at the quarterback position and head coach Jack Del Rio announced he is going with his rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert. So we will see both rookies in action this week, but I think the first overall pick wins the battle.

Outside of the Panthers, the Saints take on Houston at home. New Orleans always plays great at home so I expect them to take down Matt Schaub and the Texans, especially since running back Arian Foster is still nursing a sore hamstring.

Tampa Bay and Atlanta on the other hand will look to get over .500 against each other. Yes, we have our first division game of the season in week two. The game is in Tampa Bay but that doesn’t mean much. Atlanta is the better team and they looked pretty tough Sunday night against the Eagles. But I think the emotions of the game against Philadelphia and Michael Vick will leave the Falcons flat in this game and the Bucs walk away with the victory.
