Around the NFC South Week Five

Its a tight race for the South division crown but it looks as though it is going to be a three dog race as the Carolina Panthers are struggling sitting at 1-3 on the season. But the Panthers are the only team in the division with a losing record. The Atlanta Falcons are 2-2, while the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are both 3-1 this season.

And the schedule doesn’t get any easier for the Panthers as they play their first conference game this week when the Saints come marching into Charlotte. I think the Panthers actually have a fighting chance in this game. They have been struggling more so against the run than the pass and the Saints don’t have to prolific of a rushing attack. Chris Gamble is healthy and practicing this week so that is a good news for the Panthers. I’ll go ahead and say it, Panthers win 27-24.

Outside of this game the Falcons have a tough test as they have to travel to Green Bay, which is never an easy task. Couple that with the Packers 4-0 record and it will be a tough test for the Falcons. But I think Atlanta will end the Packers winning streak and give them their first loss this season. They Falcons have been under performing this year and I think they get it going this week.

The Bucs have the easiest week as they go up against the 49ers. They do have to travel to the west coast on a short week so that will be tough. San Fransisco is 3-1 this year and are coming off an upset win over the Eagles and I expect that to carry over and for the 49ers to win.
