Panthers Busy: Sign Wharton to Extension

The Carolina Panthers continued a pretty busy day of activity signing left tackle Travelle Wharton to a six-year deal.  The move prevents Wharton from becoming a free agent at the end of February.

Rumors persist that the team will franchise Jordan Gross, the Panthers’ left tackle, if an agreement cannot be reached.  This would mean that the team would be returning both starting tackles from last season’s squad.

The story was reported by the Charlotte Observer.
