Round Three
By John White
The Carolina Panthers continued making picks in round three today. Two more players were added.
Charles Godfrey, CB, Iowa, 6’0″, 207 lbs.
The knock on Godfrey is that he might be a little big to be a shutdown corner but he could be moved to safety in the NFL. This might wind up being a solid pick for the team.
He packs a tough hit on opposing players and is considered to have very good upside. He ran a 4.45 40 at the Combine.
Here are some scouting reports:
Dan Connor, LB, Penn State, 6’3″, 233
In about a million mock drafts across the net, Connor had been listed in the first round. It’s amazing he lasted this long. The confusion here will come from fans wondering why the team would take a linebacker.
He’s a tackling machine that has been knocked for being too small like another player already in the league, a player he has drawn comparisons to – Zach Thomas. Connor is a lunch pail player.
Here are some scouting reports:
The Panthers will not be making another pick until the sixth pick of round 5.
