Panthers claim CB Jackson
The Panthers announced today that they claimed former Denver Bronco Chevis Jackson off waivers today. Jackson, who is listed at 5-11, 192 lbs., will come in and have a chance to compete for a roster spot and possibly a starting job at cornerback with the Panthers.
Jackson played for three different teams last year, appearing in only two with the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, he did see singnifcant action in 2008-2009 with the Atlanta Falcons. During that time he played in 31 games, finsihed with 60 tackles, an interception, a sack and seven pass deflections.
It is not a big signing for the Panthers but if Jackson is smart he will take advantage of this opportunity. The Panthers are in need of another cornerback and Jackson has some experience that could help him stick with the Panthers this season.
