Panthers release first depth chart
The Panthers released its first depth chart of the season and there were not many surprises to it. Quarterback Jimmy Clausen is listed as the starting quarterback but I would not look to much into that. Both quarterbacks will see pretty much equal time and I can guarantee that Rivera is not set on any decision as to who will start at quarterback in the season opener.
Outside of that there are not to many surprises. The offensive line is the same as well as the receivers and running backs. Jeremy Shockey is listed as the staring tight end over Greg Olsen but I would expect the two to pretty much play interchangeably and see a lot of time on the field together.
The one big surprise is the fall of Everette Brown, who is listed as a backup defensive end, while former linebacker Eric Norwood is listed as the starter. The former Florida State defensive end has struggled playing in the NFL. Three offseasons ago the Panthers traded its future first round pick to trade back into the second round to draft Brown in the 2009 draft but he has never really panned out.
Here is a look at the depth chart.
