-Anderson completes a pass to Armanti Edwards good for 20 yards. Edwards has grown as a football player by leaps and bounds since last season.

-The Panthers convert a 3rd and 1 on a Jerome Felton run. The Panthers are 2 for 2 on 3rd down conversions tonight.

-Cam Newton is out and Derek Anderson is in. Wise decision by Coach Rivera taking Newton out on a high note so he can carry that confidence into the season opener against the Cardinals.

-Armanti Edwards with a 9 yard punt return. Panthers will have the ball 1st and ten.

-Panthers force a three and out as the Steelers cannot convert a 3rd and 13 pass play.

-Steelers convert a 3rd down only to have it discounted on a holding penalty. Replay 3rd down.

– Jordan Senn just made a tackle. He has been a major player for the Panthers this pre-season. There is absolutely no way he does not make the final 53 man roster.

-Another touchback on the kickoff for the Panthers. Mare’s leg will be a valuable asset on special teams. His ability to put the ball through the end-zone on kickoffs is the major reason why John Kasay was not brought back. Steelers will have the ball 1st and 10 on their own 20 yard line.

-With a little over 6:00 in the 1st, the game is tied 7-7. Newton had 35 yards through the air and 19 yards rushing on the drive. If he can continue this consistently, Newton could be a major force. He is certainly playing with confidence tonight.

-Newton connects to Shockey for a 1o yard completion and a touchdown!

-Newly acquired full-back, Jerome Felton just saw his first Panther carry go for 2 yards. The Panthers are in the red zone.

-On 3rd and 10, an all-out Steeler blitz forces Newton to run and run he does for a 20 yard gain. 1st and 10, Panthers.

-Potentially great news for Panther fans: Jeff Otah is starting tonight.

-After a bad decision that did lead to a 4 yard gain on a Newton to Naane completion, Jonathon Stewart runs for 7 yards. Panthers get an additional 15 yards for unnecessary roughness. 1st and 10 Panthers.

-Mike Goodson returns the kickoff to the Panthers’ 29 yard line. Cam Newton and company are coming onto the field with decent field position. It is expected that Newton will play two series tonight. I would expect that Jimmy Clausen will get the majority of the reps with Anderson possibly closing it out in the 4th quarter.

-After a Mike Wallace completion, the ball was fumbled into the endzone and was recovered by the Steelers. Touchdown, Pittsburgh. 7-0 Pittsburgh who finished a 10 play, 80 yard drive.

-Steelers continue to move the ball at will. Batch completed another pass for a first down. Steelers are now in the red-zone

-Unable to put pressure on the QB, Charlie Batch completes a pass for the Steelers for a 1st down.

-Godfrey showing great reaction time shutting down a quick pass play with an open-field tackle for minimal yardage.

-Panthers already having trouble tackling the ball carrier. Pittsburgh just gained a 1st down with a ten yard delay screen play.

-Olindo Mare boots the opening kick-off out of the endzone. The Steelers will have it 1st and 10 at their own 20 yard line.

-Kick off is about 45 minutes away. Panther fans are still hoping to see what Cam Newton can bring to the table but are still trembling in fear when they consider what the Steeler run game could potentially do to the Panthers front line.
