Panthers release lineman Wells, sign DL Kearse
The Carolina Panthers have released offensive lineman Reggie Wells less than a week after signing him and instead signed defensive tackle Frank Kearse off of the Miami Dolphins practice squad according to the official Panthers Twitter account.
"@PAnthers The Panthers have signed DT Frank Kearse from the Miami Dolphins practice squad and released OL Reggie Wells. More to come on Panthers.com."
The 30 year old Wells was just signed by the Panthers last week after he was released by the Philadelphia Eagles earlier in the summer. He has started 91 games in his nine year career.
Kearse on the other hand is a rookie this season. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round out of Alabama A&M but did not make the team, however was signed back to the team’s practice squad. He should help provide the Panthers with some defensive line help.
