Carolina Panthers Injury Report Week Five

For the first time all season, it seems the Panthers will be at full strength, at least with its active roster, as the team released it’s injury report today. The Panthers have five players listed on the report but all of them are listed as probable and should be able to go.

That will be good news for the Panthers who will need all hands on deck when the New Orleans Saints come to Charlotte this Sunday.

The two biggest names on the report are Chris Gamble and Jeremy Shockey. Gamble missed last weeks game with a concussion, while Shockey was knocked out of that game with a concussion as well but it seems both players have passed all the necessary tests to be able to play on Sunday and should be out there.

Also, offensive lineman Geoff Hangartner and Jeff Otah were listed on the report with back injuries but it seems as though both will play as they both fully practiced today.

The remaining player on the list was Mike Goodson. Goodson was out with an unnamed illness earlier in the week but was back at practice on Friday. But it seems the backup running back has lost his job as kick returner. Head coach Ron Rivera announced that safety Jordan Pugh and rookie receiver Keloha Pilares will now return kicks instead of Goodson.

I thought Goodson had done a decent job in the return game but I guess the coaches believe Pugh and Pilares can provide a bit more speed and pop to the return game.
