Last Minute Fantasy Stock Watch
Here we are, its about 2 hours to game time, and you’re thinking: Who do I start?
Well I’m here to help you with that. There are a few players that were questionable that made me wait until now to write the article. Hopefully we all have a good week this week, and people keep putting up numbers. The biggest story this week is John Fox naming Tim Tebow the starter in Denver, and I’ll address his fantasy value later.
For your latest Carolina Panther news prior to the team’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, head to the Panthers pregame post.
So time is winding down to kickoff, let’s do this.
Start
Cam Newton vs ATL
Cam is averaging 30 points a game, and Atlanta isn’t the best against the pass. They do a run a Cover 2 so Shockey and Olsen could have huge games.
Daniel Thomas vs NYJ
The Jets are 26th against the run, and do you really think the Dolphins are going to let Matt Moore throw the ball?
Darrius Heyward-Bey vs CLE
FINALLY!!! He is living up to his draft position and finally putting up numbers. Jason Campbell is developing a good rapport with DHB, and I could see him having around 50 yards and a TD.
Colt McCoy vs OAK
McCoy is averaging 15 points a game, and the Raiders are giving up about 20 points a game to opposing quarterbacks.
Sit
Alex Smith vs DET
I’m afraid Suh and Fairley will kill him. No, seriously I fear for Alex Smith.
Rashard Mendenhall vs JAC
Rashard has yet to prove he deserves one of your starting positions.
Brandon Marshall vs NYJ
"“I don’t care if I have two, three cameras on me. I don’t care if I have penalties. It doesn’t matter; I’m going to let it all out. I don’t care what you guys write or what the commentators say. I’m just going to play football. That’s what I’m best at. I’m best when I play emotional. I’m best when I play with passion. You guys are going to see that on Monday Night Football. I don’t know if it’s throwing a football 15 yards in the bleachers, or getting a 15-yarder [penalty], or punting the ball and getting thrown out of the game. But something is going to happen. I’ll probably get kicked out after the second quarter.”"
‘Nuff Said Brandon.
Shonn Greene vs MIA
Miami actually has a great run defense, and Greene’s best stat line came against the Patriots, and then he only had 83 yards.
UPDATE: Tim Tebow
I forgot to address him when I was writing the article, but avoid him at all costs. John Fox is going to run the ball a lot, and rely on McGahee. Tebow could get some rushing yards and a TD but it won’t be significant enough to warrant a start.
If you comment on this before game-time I’ll try and answer all questions…or tweet me @CatCraveSlate.
