The biggest question mark entering camp

was who would replace Jordan Gross at LT. Following GM Dave Gettleman’s logic that the answer is already on the roster, it was narrowed down to Byron Bell and Nate Chandler, respectively.
Through the first three days, each player has enjoyed an almost equivalent amount of time on either side of the line. According to Jonathan Jones of The Charlotte Observer, Bell looks to be the heir apparent to protect Cam’s blind side. However, Nate Chandler’s footwork has looked more adept for the position and has enjoyed a tad more success on the left side.
Byron Bell might appear to have the lead on Chandler, but over the past three days, Chandler has made a case for himself on the left side. His athleticism will be better suited to help move with Newton’s mobility. Chandler also looks more cerebral thus far than Bell has, so hold off on penciling the latter in at LT. From the eye test thus far, Chandler looks more natural on the left, and Bell’s style of play better suited on the strong side.
