Multi-Tight End Looks

and by the looks of the early reports out of camp, Carolina could dress four tight ends on gameday.  The Panthers thrived in a dual-TE look in the past, so they have dialed back the clock and will feature this more in 2014.  It has been seen quite a bit this past weekend and will continue being added to the playbook.

So far in camp, Greg Olsen, Ed Dickson, Brandon Williams, Mike McNeill and D.C. Jefferson have all seen reps thus far.  McNeill is more in the mold of Ben Hartsock and Jefferson is a behemoth of a player towering at 6’6″ and 265-pounds.

Olsen and Newton have already regained their connection with a few hook-ups in camp.  Dickson appears to have rediscovered his fire as he too has been involved thus far.  Newton’s comfortability in the “12” formation and the possibility of seeing up to four tight ends on the field at once will create confusion for opposing defenses.
