“I think some of the things we’ve done in the past two seasons bodes very well for what we can become. Again, you won’t know until you put the pads on and start playing for real. I’m pretty excited about who we can become. We’ve got to continue to work well and stay healthy.”

Rivera’s comment to the exciting time the Panthers put on Friday night and this phase stresses what Rivera has stressed during his tenure.

  • Fans cheered loudly as Kelvin Benjamin made an outstanding catch over Josh Norman for a touchdown, just before going out of bounds during 1-on-1 drills. Another cheer went out when Jerricho Cotchery ran a short route while Norman was all over him, yet Cotchery made the catch for a touchdown.

Cheers were not the only thing present, as loud gasps from the crowd came when two uncommon names contributed to one of, if not the biggest hits of the night. Runing back Brandon Wegher was running to the sideline when linebacker Kevin Reddick lowered his helmet and leveled Wegher to the ground.

“They missed the boat on this one.”
    “This is ridiculous.”
    “I can’t find a seat.”

Now as you can see, these phrases should not have been coming from fan’s mouths Friday night at Bank of America Stadium. A fan could think it, but do not say, being as it was evident Friday night, if this energy and excitement continues by the fans throughout the season, the 2015 season could be a special year for our Carolina Panthers.
