Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers talk with Blogging Dirty

The Carolina Panthers welcome the Atlanta Falcons to Bank of America Stadium Sunday.

This is a rivalry game without a doubt.  These teams also meet twice in a span of three weeks.

The Falcons are looking to remain in the playoff race and knock the Panthers out of the undefeated ranks.

Freddie Boston, Editor of Blogging Dirty, gave his thoughts on the matchup.

Question:  The offense seems to be, well, not sure what the right word is, but mistake prone, or having trouble finding their niche? Is there anything they can do to get back on track for this game and the season and maybe push for the playoffs?

Answer:  The biggest issue has been with turning the football over. Matt Ryan has made a number of poor decisions which have left points on the field, and ultimately made the difference in a Falcons loss. But it’s not all on him. Outside of Julio Jones, there has been no reliable receiving option and defenses have been able to focus all of their attention into stopping Jones.

The offense hasn’t looked good since Week 4, so it’s hard seeing them turn it around now, particularly against one of the league’s best defenses. To do so, they will need to play a turnover-free game and be able to mix up the pass and run games.

Rebuttal:  A turnover-free game will be key in this game for both teams.  The rivalry is so intense that any turnover will likely turn into the other team capitalizing.
