3. Joe Webb is returning

This one was first reported a couple of days ago but was just announced by the team.

According to the Carolina Panthers’ official Twitter account, they have re-signed backup quarterback Joe Webb to a two-year deal:

Webb has been in the league four years after getting picked in the sixth round of the 2010 draft by the Minnesota Vikings.

So far he has only played in 56 games.

He’s not going to supplant Cam Newton any time soon but Webb’s big plus is his versatility. He can play quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and he can return kicks if needed.
