TIGHT END

Starter: Greg Olsen

Arguably the Panthers top pass catcher, Greg Olsen, will be ready again in 2016 to help Newton and the offense try to improve even further. Olsen is Newton’s true go-to threat with reliable hands and clutch playmaking ability. After two seasons of 1,000+ yards, Olsen will also be looking to become the only tight end in NFL history to ever record three consecutive 1,000 yard seasons.

Backup: Ed Dickson

Even with plenty of competition around him this offseason, Ed Dickson should maintain his role as the backup tight end in Carolina. The six-year vet has just 27 catches, 236 yards and three scores in two seasons with the Panthers but is a reliable backup option when needed as both a receiver and blocker.
