LEFT TACKLE

Starter: Michael Oher

The Panthers finally got some consistency out of their left tackle position in 2015 with Michael Oher manning the spot. The former first-round pick also just signed an extension with the team to help provide reliable and consistent production until Carolina finds their future at the position. Oher’s abilities as a blocker are somewhat limited and Pro Football Focus graded him as a below average run blocker but his pass blocking is ideal for what the Panthers need and with confidence and another season working with the same starting five, Oher’s production should remain.

Backup: Daryl Williams

The Panthers most valuable backup lineman is second-year player, Daryl Williams. Capable of slotting into multiple positions, Williams looks to be locked in as Carolina’s sixth lineman. Injuries hampered his 2015 season slightly but in brief appearances he showed promise and should be a capable player to fill in where necessary.
