Round 1, Pick 8

Derek Barnett, DE – Tennessee

The Panthers could use a young pass rusher after trading away Kony Ealy and adding Derek Barnett would do wonders for the defensive line. Barnett is an absolute beast and would easily fit in with the defense in Carolina. While the move would push Charles Johnson or Julius Peppers into depth roles, their experience would be extremely beneficial for the young prospect. The Panthers invested a lot of money in Mario Addison and while it seems he is likely to become a starter, it could be Barnett opposite of Addison. That alone should scare opposing quarterbacks throughout the league.
