Grade: 21 out of 25

In a way this feels a bit like a duplicate pick from the Panthers’ first round selection, Christian McCaffrey. Both players are versatile and can line up in multiple spots on the field.

However, they should bring different things to this offense. McCaffrey is more of a running back, a player who can carry the ball 15-20 times a game and occasionally line up in the slot. Meanwhile, Samuel looks more like a slot wide receiver, who can occasionally line up in the backfield.

The one thing that Samuel brings that this offense desperately needed is speed. The losses of Ted Ginn Jr. and Philly Brown could have been a major loss and limited their ability to take advantage of Cam Newton’s deep ball. The addition of Samuel gives them that quick, fast receiver who can get over the top of defenses in a blink of an eye.
