Panthers at Patriots: 5 questions for Sunday
The Carolina Panthers face the defending Super Bowl champion for the second year in a row on Sunday…
Last season the Carolina Panthers opened play with a rematch of Super Bowl 50 against the Broncos in Denver. On Sunday, for the second straight season, Carolina travels to play the defending champions again, this time in Foxborough.
Battling multiple injuries, the matchup with New England doesn’t appear to be favorable for the Panthers. However, the Carolina defense remains the top ranked unit after a disappointing showing at home last week and New England now, statistically, is the worst in the league.
This doesn’t necessarily translate into success but Houston’s rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson was effective in New England despite not coming away with a victory. If Panthers quarterback Cam Newton can get the offense on track, Carolina has a chance.
For a preview and to gather some inside information, Cat Crave asked our sister site Musket Fire expert Nick Ziegler a few questions about the upcoming game.
