The Carolina Panthers travel to face defending Super Bowl champion New England on Sunday…

A week after losing at home to divisional rival New Orleans, the Carolina Panthers travel to face the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. Coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady have a long history of success making for a tough road game early in the season.

Four of the next five are away for Carolina, including a short-week home matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. In order to keep pace in the division and maintain a desirable level of optimism moving forward, the Panthers desperately need a win.

Unfortunately, no one is expecting Carolina to pull off the upset in Foxborough. Last week, rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson almost secured a victory for his Texans but Brady and the Patriots offense proved too tough at home.

While the New England defense may be surrendering a lot of points and yards to begin the season, their offense remains powered by Brady. The Panthers are battling multiple injuries in addition to traveling but Sunday could provide a good opportunity for their offense to finally get on track. If they do, expect a closer than anticipated matchup with the Patriots.
