The Carolina Panthers maintain their high ranking with another impressive win…

Benefiting from a three game home stand in December, the Carolina Panthers won their second straight on Sunday. Taking down Green Bay despite the return of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Panthers essentially ended any real opportunity for them to continue their streak of playoff appearances.

Quarterback Cam Newton threw four touchdown passes and an opportunistic defense capitalized on four total turnovers in the win. Tight end Greg Olsen impressed with his first touchdown of the season and 100-plus yard receiving effort since Week 5 last year, he has missed most of this season with a broken foot.

Carolina now has a clear opportunity at the playoffs with just one more win in either of their final two games. Ending the current home stand against visiting Tampa Bay, the Panthers should clinch a berth this week.
