Panthers 2018 London game possible
The Carolina Panthers could be playing in London during the 2018 NFL season…
Every year since the 2007 season the NFL has played at least one game outside of the United States in either London, England or Mexico City, Mexico. This series began with a single game held in Wembley Stadium for six seasons and has expanded to five international games, in three different stadiums and two continents last year. An NFL goal is to allow every team at least one international game and the Carolina Panthers have yet to travel abroad.
Green Bay, Philadelphia, and Tennessee are the remaining three teams who have also yet to play outside of the United States over this period. Seattle played Buffalo in Canada when the Bills traveled to Toronto once a year for a home game but the Seahawks have never participated in the London or Mexico City games.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have appeared more often than any other team abroad, playing one home game a year in London over the past five seasons and continuing to do so until at least 2020. New England, who has played three games owns the record for most wins remaining undefeated by beating Oakland this past season in Mexico City.
Expected to host as many as five NFL games in 2018, the NFL will announce the pairings for London on Thursday via Facebook Live at 3:45pm ET. As a team who has yet to travel across the pond, Carolina has a few opponents that could allow the NFL to fill a few of the games with all new teams.

The Panthers 2018 opponents have already been determined and they will be hosting Seattle, while traveling to Philadelphia. Either of these two games could wind up in London for an all-new matchup provided by the NFL in this International Series.
Green Bay also travels to Seattle next season and Philadelphia hosts Houston, who has played in Mexico City but never in London. These and divisional matchups between Houston and Tennessee could provide a new experience for fans in London and the NFL teams who have yet to make the trip, though the league typically does not play divisional contests abroad.

Consider it a bit of a surprise if Carolina doesn’t hear their name called on Thursday with so many opportunities this year for potential matchups allowing the NFL to end the upcoming season with every team having appeared in London.
