Odds remain favorable the Carolina Panthers will capture a Lombardi Trophy over the next two seasons…
The Carolina Panthers are currently surrounded by a cloud of uncertainty. As any franchise undergoes an ownership change, anticipation is high for players, coaches, team personnel, management and the fans. No one really knows what the future has in store for a team that has enjoyed a remarkable amount of success in such a small time frame.
Founded in 1993, Carolina began playing just two years later, losing their first ever game in overtime but eventually winning seven total after dropping five straight to start. The Panthers finished their inaugural season with a 7-9 overall record.
They won 12 games the following year before falling in the conference championship game to eventual Super Bowl champion Green Bay. The first of eight trips to the playoffs in 23 seasons or one every three years on average. Two of those have resulted in Carolina reaching the Super Bowl, but a 32-29 loss to New England for the 2003 season and a 24-10 loss to Denver three years ago have kept the Panthers from claiming the ultimate prize.

Despite the absence of an owner, general manager and revamped coaching staff that includes new coordinators at all three phases – offense, defense and special teams, the Panthers are projected to maintain their high level of play over the next three years.
BetDSI Sportsbook is currently offering odds on NFL teams for both the 2019 and 2020 seasons and the Panthers rank better than average. Despite announcements that veterans Thomas Davis and Ryan Kalil are entering their final seasons, with other top-tier players Greg Olsen, Jonathan Stewart and Julius Peppers future plans in doubt, Carolina ranks No. 12 and No. 10, respectively.
A bit surprising given the current core group of Panthers are entering the final stages of their careers but a hopeful trust that, if surrounded with talent, franchise quarterback Cam Newton can lead this team to its first ever Super Bowl championship.
Only time will tell, but it would be a big boost for new ownership and to the city of Charlotte after the tumultuous offseason currently taking place.
