Former Minnesota Vikings guard Jeremiah Sirles is set to visit with the Carolina Panthers.

The Carolina Panthers are continuing their busy offseason and show no signs of slowing down. The team will host Minnesota Vikings free agent guard Jeremiah Sirles on Monday per multiple media reports.

Sirles has played for the San Diego Chargers (2014) and the Minnesota Vikings (2015-present) in what has been an eventful career for him to this point. He played at the University of Nebraska and was named to the All-Big Ten second-team in 2012. He played in only two games for the Chargers in his lone season with them, starting one.

Minnesota is where he found his niche. His best season statistically came in 2016. That year, he was the beneficiary of ample playing time. He played in 14 games, starting 10 of them.

All things considered, he has been a very solid player for the Vikings. The Vikings acquired him for a 2016 sixth-round draft pick in September 2015. When you factor that in what the team gave up to get him, it is safe to say he was a bargain.

The Carolina Panthers would be wise to sign him. The team has holes to fill on the offensive line. Center Ryan Kalil is set to retire at the end of the 2018 season while guard Andrew Norwell has departed for the New York Giants.  Any depth the Panthers can add to the offensive line is a bonus. If they can add a player who also possesses playoff experience, that would be welcome.

Next: Potential Olsen departure

After what was a slow start to the offseason, the Carolina Panthers have really increased their efforts over the past couple days. Looking at it now, my guess is that they assessed the market and figured out a plan before making any moves. If they can land Sirles and bolster their line further, that would be a major pickup for the organization.
