Haley Kalil wins Sports Illustrated Swimsuit competition
Haley Kalil named one of two Sports Illustrated Swimsuit competition winners…
Haley Kalil has been on a journey spanning the calendar and globe in search of her dream to be included in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine, released yearly. Thousands of hopefuls submitted photos via Instagram well over seven months ago and last weekend two were named as the competition winners.
Kalil and Camille Kostek were the two lucky ladies who will now appear in the 2019 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine as “rookie” models, although it won’t be the first appearance for either. As the competition narrowed through a rigorous process, the final six entrants each took part in a photo shoot and were featured in the 2018 SI Swimsuit issue as contestants in the model search.
In Las Vegas at the Encore Beach Club during an SI sponsored event, both Kalil and Kostek were named as the two winners from the original thousand-plus entries. Kalil celebrated the #SISwimSearch with a bag full of Taco Bell, her guilty pleasure for those who have been following her success over the entire process.

The Minnesota native was described by Kelsey Hendrix of Sports Illustrated in an effort to introduce readers to Kalil back when she was named one of the top-15 and prior to their participation in Miami Swim Week.
"Haley’s love for our own Jessica Perez and her undeniable sweetness immediately won us over, but there’s so much more to this Southern-based bombshell. Haley is the former Miss Minnesota 2014, who now works as a lab tech and loves traveling every chance she can get. BONUS: You can also find Haley on the sidelines at Bank of America Stadium this fall, as she cheers on her hubby Matt and brother-in-law Ryan, who both play for the Carolina Panthers!"
Her husband, Matt Kalil, is the starting left tackle for the Carolina Panthers as the couple has been riding a recent wave of success. He joined the Panthers and was able to play with older brother, Ryan Kalil, for the first time in their lives this past season after signing the biggest free agent contract for any individual joining the team last year.
