Round 7, 242nd overall: Austin Proehl, North Carolina wide receiver

Austin Proehl, son of former Panthers wide receiver and coach Ricky Proehl, is a great bet to be snagged with the last Carolina pick tonight. He came in for a local visit with the Panthers all the way from UNC, and would be a solid add to the Panthers wide receiver group.

Proehl has always been a solid contributor for the Tarheels, with eight receptions for 120 yards against Jaire Alexander’s Louisville last season. However, injuries slowed him down and he finished with only 21 receptions for 337 yards on the season.

Proehl would be a great addition with the last Panthers selection, and maybe he could even carry on the Proehl legacy with the Panthers.

Happy draft-watching, everyone!
