The Carolina Panthers rookies seem to be progressing well….

On Monday, the Carolina Panthers kicked off their final week of OTAs. By all accounts, some really good things have come out of them, and head coach Ron Rivera has been especially pleased with how the younger guys are performing.

In a video posted on Panthers.com, Rivera spoke to the media following the end of OTAs on Monday to talk about the progress of the rookies.

"“I think we’re very pleased with what we’ve got. I really do mean that because of the things that we’re seeing, Rivera said. ’ You know, the nice thing about coming back today is their retention level, you know I told you guys that last week. You always worry about the stuff that you’ve been putting in from the beginning. You have a long weekend and they don’t get a chance to refresh on it. Now all of a sudden they go out and they go execute. That’s very pleasing, it really is.”“Then you see the progress that a lot of these young guys are making right now, that’s another thing.” Rivera said. ‘You always worry about, you know as you get into the training camp mode what’s gonna happen if some of the veterans miss a day, get a day off, or an injury. These young guys have gotta step up so that’s another thing that’s been pleasing. Young guys are really making some headway, so that’s exciting.”"

This rookie class is certainly very talented. From the playmaking of D.J. Moore to the swagger of Donte Jackson, this Carolina Panthers draft class is very balanced. It has something to offer at almost every position and that is a great thing. For the most part, this draft class provides them with both future depth and players that can see the field right now. Particularly, guys like Moore and Jackson should at least have the chance to see the field in 2018.

Carolina Panthers fans should be encouraged by this news. Too often as a fan, you wonder if management knows what they are doing when drafting the future of your favorite team. I would say that Panthers management certainly had a tremendous draft and has given the fans a lot to look forward to.
