Philadelphia Eagles

The matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7 is sure to be a good one.  On the road against the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Panthers will have their work cut out for them.

The Panthers and Eagles have met a total of 11 times with Philadelphia holding a 7-4 edge in the all-time series. The last time these two faced each other was under the bright lights of Thursday Night Football on October 12. On the road in a tough Bank of America Stadium, the Eagles pulled out a 28-23 victory. Cam Newton struggled in this one, throwing for 239 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. He did a little better on the ground rushing the ball 11 times for 71 yards and a touchdown.

Given talent of the Eagles defensive line, I would not be surprised to see McCaffrey used in the passing game more than the running game. He will have to find ways to create offense as the Eagle defensive line will be in full attack mode, and just running between the tackles is not going to cut it.

Another thing to watch for is how Newton will make out against the line and defense in general. They gave him fits last time and even if the offensive line is at full strength, I am not sure they will be able to stop the pass rush. Nothing against the line, their defense is just that good.
