Carolina Panthers Training Camp begins just six weeks from today…

A cloud of uncertainty hovered over the Carolina Panthers as they entered the offseason following a solid season and another playoff appearance. The fourth in five years for a franchise on the cusp of winning a Super Bowl and bringing an elusive Lombardi Trophy back to Charlotte for the first time.

Coach Ron Rivera has enjoyed a lot of success at the helm of the Panthers, including three consecutive divisional championships and one Super Bowl appearance. His leadership has provided one of the few constants around an organization undergoing change from top to bottom in the past few months.

A change in ownership, among coaches and coordinators, in addition to personnel switches up and down the roster have the anticipation level for 2018 at an all time high. While many questions have been answered with new names settling into their respective roles, how this team will look and perform when the season arrives remains a mystery.

Those questions will begin to be answered when training camp officially starts on July 26 at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The alma mater of founder and former owner Jerry Richardson has hosted camp every season since 1995 and will continue to do so under new owner David Tepper, at least this season.

An official kickoff party begins at 4:00pm with the first practice of the season from 6:30pm-8:30pm inside Gibbs Stadium. The team will travel north for the annual Panthers Fan Fest – an open practice to the public inside Bank of America Stadium – on Friday, August 3 before returning to Spartanburg for a few final practices.

Camp concludes on Monday, August 13 at which time all preseason activities will be moved back to Charlotte in preparation for the upcoming season. The first preseason game takes place on August 9 at Buffalo before the Panthers host Miami on August 17 in front of their home crowd.
