Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly ranks No. 12 in NFL Top-100 Players of 2018…

Just another day at the office for Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly. On Monday, he was ranked No. 12 by fellow National Football League players on the NFL Network’s “Top 100 Players of 2018” list.

This is nothing new for the former Boston College product as he has appeared on the list every year since he was drafted into the league in 2012. He has certainly gotten ample recognition on the list, having been in the top 20 for five consecutive years and has been the only linebacker on the countdown list each year.

Kuechly has been a force for the Carolina Panthers defensive line. With 818 total tackles 22 takeaways and 15 interceptions, he has taken the league by storm. He has developed into one the best linebackers in the league in a relatively short period of time.

This past season, he appeared in 15 games, starting all of them, recording 74 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three interceptions and a forced fumble. For his efforts, he was named to his fifth Pro Bowl (which he did not play in due to having his shoulder surgery) and earned his fourth First-Team All-Pro honor.

He joins teammates Cam Newton (No.25) and Thomas Davis (No. 73) representing the Panthers on this list. It will be interesting to see what Kuechly can do this season. While injuries have hindered his production over the past couple of seasons, he can still be a dominant defensive force.

As the defensive core gets older and younger pieces begin to come in, Kuechly should provide stability as the Panthers aim for success.
