The Carolina Panthers linebacker was recognized on an impressive list..

Another day, another member of the Carolina Panthers recognized by the national media. Luke Kuechly was put on NFL.com’s “Indispensable defenders list” on Friday coming in at No. 8.

NFL.com writer Adam Schein put together a very good list and he had the following analysis of Kuechly.

"He’s the Panthers’ best player and team leader. When Kuechly misses time due to injury, Carolina isn’t the same. Plain and simple. The defense comes apart.Kuechly is a tackling machine (only the underrated Lavonte David has more tackles since Kuechly entered the league in 2012) and the pulse of Ron Rivera‘s Panthers."

I will not spoil the list entirely for those who have not taken a look at it. I will say that the list is stacked with impact players and that he is ahead of Cam Jordan of the New Orleans Saints. Some may argue that Kuechly is too low on the list but I do not have a problem with where he is ranked. This is the type of list where even being mentioned is an honor in itself.

I very rarely agree with the national media but Schein hit the nail on the head in his assessment of what the former Boston College product brings to the team. When Kuechly is not out there, a huge piece of the defense is missing. The way he attacks the football and the energy he brings day in and day out is unmatched.

Who can forget the 2015 Thanksgiving Day game against the Dallas Cowboys? The Carolina Panthers defense swarmed the Dallas Cowboy offense in that game and Kuechly was a huge part of that. He recorded five tackles and two interceptions in the game and was a huge reason why my fantasy football team made it to the championship game that year.

Perhaps the most impressive thing is that something related to the Carolina Panthers received some love on the part of the national media. I will give credit where it is due. There has been a lot of buzz surrounding the Carolina Panthers this offseason. From social media especially, there is the sense that this Carolina Panthers team could be very special. There is no doubt that Kuechly will be leading the charge in making sure the team has a successful season.

As the accolades for Kuechly keep coming this offseason, it is just a reminder of the talent the Carolina Panthers possess as a team.
