Mixing up and balancing the playcalling

This is the top priority for the offense. The Carolina Panthers must mix the playcalling up a bit more. There is no doubt that running the ball with great frequency is made easier by the fact Christian McCaffrey  is the running back, but with tremendous talent at the other offensive positions, they need to mix up the playcalling.

In 2017, the team passed the ball 52.96 % of the time per TeamRankings.com. That put them at No. 29 in the league. In comparison they ran a passing play 47.04% of the time. Although those percentages are relatively close, the offense needs to be a bit more balanced heading into 2018. Luckily, the Panthers have the luxury of having talent at all of the offensive positions. It is more a question of how things will come together than anything else.

This will be a challenge for Norv Turner. He has worked with superstars before. However, he has never worked with a quarterback quite like Cam Newton. If Newton and Turner can figure out a way to balance the offense better, the Panthers will be giving the defense fits all season long.
