Veteran Heavy Presence

The Panthers are blessed to have a significant amount of veteran leadership throughout the roster but the team’s core will shrink after this season. Turnover is an expected part of the NFL and every team endures some attrition from time to time but Carolina has many players nearing retirement.

Both center Ryan Kalil and linebacker Thomas Davis (though the suspension may change his mind) announced prior to camp that 2018 would be their last in a Panthers uniform. Each has played their entire career in  Charlotte and leaving will be detrimental.

Safety, Mike Adams (37) and tight end Greg Olsen (33) are two other starters who are nearing the end of their careers. Each plays a vital role on their respective unit, adding to the uncertain future of the franchise.
