The Carolina Panthers new season kicked off on Thursday night with some surprises…

Training camp typically begins with a lot of fanfare and celebration signaling the official begin to a new season. The Carolina Panthers are no different as this early in the process everyone is on an even playing field with an equal opportunity at winning the Super Bowl.

No games have been played but the anticipation and excitement surrounding every NFL team at this point in the year is, sometimes, at its highest. Hopefully, the Panthers have big things in store for 2018 but until Week 1, most of the competition will come from drills, practice and a few preseason games.

However, training camp does provide an opportunity for fans to get a glimpse at the team and see what some players are capable of, including the rookies and new additions. For Carolina, there are a few key openings on the roster that need to be filled before the games begin to count.

These include wide receiver and offensive line on offense, in addition to the defensive line and secondary on the other side of the football. Take a look at who got the first-team reps on day one for the Panthers in Spartanburg.
