Arguably the weakest unit on the team, Carolina has seemingly been searching for consistency among the secondary since letting cornerback Josh Norman walk a few years back. In three years, the Panthers have used six NFL Draft picks to add players among the secondary, including two this year in Donte Jackson and Rashaan Gaulden.
Both rookies were immediately thrust into action, with Gaulden playing alongside veteran Mike Adams at safety and Jackson lining up opposite James Bradberry. The competition among this group is expected to be tight as training camp continues.
Kevon Seymour, who started some last season, and Da’Norris Searcy will also see time with Corn Elder, who missed his rookie season but is now healthy and ready to make an impact.
Each of these position battles should provide fans plenty to keep an eye on as the team continues their preparations for the 2018 season. Training camp continues at Wofford College with the Panthers first preseason game scheduled for August 9 in Buffalo.
