Comeback Player: Captain Munnerlyn, CB

Munnerlyn, by his own admission had a disappointing season last year and felt that among other things, he should have seen the field more. He tallied 24 tackles and two sacks in 14 games played, none of which he started.

Munnerlyn is capable of bigger things than the body of work he put together last year. The best season of his career came in his first season with the Carolina Panthers in 2013. He notched 52 tackles and three sacks along with two pass deflections and a forced fumble.

Per the most recent depth chart from OurLads.com, Munnerlyn is in the second spot at the left cornerback position behind James Bradberry. He should be able to receive a good amount of playing time in the new-look defense of Eric Washington.

A motivated Munnerlyn should provide a huge boost to the Carolina Panthers secondary. With the injury to Ross Cockrell, the need for Munnerlyn could be greater than ever before. He has the chance to really make an impact on the defense this year and I think he definitely will fit into the equation and have, at the very least, a better season than 2017.
