The team may have a red zone weapon

The Carolina Panthers offense unleashed a goal line drill during Fan Fest that we may see later on in the season.

As Max Henson alluded to, both C.J. Anderson and Christian McCaffrey took the ball in the end zone while Cam Newton took the football to the house via a bootleg play.

This is particularly notable as it could be something that yields success during the regular season. With the employment of both running backs, this had to be a situation that general manager Marty Hurney envisioned when he acquired Anderson. If both CMC and Anderson are in the red zone, that would be an opposing defense’s worst nightmare.

This could be a play that has a high success rate during the regular season. It will be interesting to see how often the Carolina Panthers employ bootlegs in goal line situations throughout the course of the campaign as well as how often they use it in other instances.
